Has Interacting more on Spoonflower helped?

Back in October I wrote a post about my lack of effort in promoting my designs called, Does Following Designers or Favouriting Designs on Spoonflower help? This is about 6 weeks ago, so I thought it was time to do a little check in on the numbers. I recorded the level of followers and favourites for each of the platforms I was using, the results are below!

My plan was to interact daily and I have done that. I receive emails from Spoonflower with all my favourites and follows everyday. I have gone through all of them, returned all favourites and follows. I also made an effort on Instagram, not quite everyday but much more often than before.

I have been adding new designs very regularly and am nearing 1000 designs! I was also planning on entering every Spoonflower design challenge but I had a wee mix up. The latest design challenge did not run with the regular two week timeline, and instead it was only a week which I did not notice in time. So I missed the deadline. That could be a good resolution for the new year, to enter every design challenge for 2026!

Spoonflower

In October I had given out 6318 favourites, received 12,031 favourites, and had 223 connections.

Now at the end of November I have given out 13383 favourites (up 7065), received 16557 favourites (up 4526) and 317 connections (up 94).

So I think that is a pretty big success! Not only have I found new designers with amazing designs, but I feel more part of the community too.

Instagram

I still have a love hate relationship with Instagram but I have found a few new things since I last gave it any attention. So I will persevere and keep going with it. I am trying to set aside a little time everyday.

I had 626 followers and I'm following 607.

Six weeks later I have 648 followers (up 22) and am following 635 (up 28).

I am not a big believer in having a load of followers and not following very many people to look more popular. I know in the past people would follow you in the hopes you follow them back, then shortly after they would unfollow to improve their stats. There were a few I did not follow back purely because they were not designers or accounts I liked they were shop accounts trying to sell me something.

Facebook

I did not have the enthusiasm to spend much time here. I did set up Instagram to share posts to my Facebook page so it is receiving regular content but still no engagement. I think it may just be one too many things for me to do. Maybe I will take it down...but I won't do anything rash. I will have a think about that one.

Did it increase sales?

As far as an increase in sales, I haven't seen any results yet. But it is early days so I am not sure I can really tell yet. I will keep you posted with another update soon! I will also continue to post the months sales posts so you will be able to see.

I am still very hopeful and having loads of fun!
