Does Following Designers or Favouriting Designs on Spoonflower help?

Does it make any difference to your Spoonflower sales if you are more active by following designers and liking designs? I am not sure. Does a design having more hearts help in search results?

I have no idea to be honest, but I think it is time to up my game and see! Time to make a social media and interaction plan. Obviously, I will still only follow designers whose work I admire and only heart designs that I actually like. I don't think I can bring myself to randomly like whatever for the sake of sales. It has to mean something right?

I will probably need to set a reminder and make sure to do it everyday!

I guess I need to check my current followers and favourites to have a starting point. I think I will start with Spoonflower and Instagram. On the off chance I still have some motivation and time left I will add on the Facebook page.

I will still take part in all spoonflower design challenges and add new designs daily if possible, or as regularly as I can.

Spoonflower

On Spoonflower I have given out 6318 favourites. I have received 12,031 favourites, and have 223 connections. I have never even looked at those statistics with more than a glace. I feel a little guilty and definitely need to hand out some more favourites! I always favourite all the designs I vote for but really could do more to share the love.

Instagram

I have a love hate relationship with Instagram. It's an all or nothing kind of deal. So consistency is going to have to be key. Right now I have 626 followers and 607 following. I used to really enjoy Instagram but then they added algorithms to decide which posts you see. I loved that you saw everything in chronological order. Once you saw a post you had seen before you knew you had caught up. But now I feel like I miss so much, and who knows who I am ignoring because the algorithm chose not to show them.

I have just recently discovered that on the iPad (where the menu is on the left side) I can select to see friends only and in chronological order!

Facebook

Sadly I have 0 likes and 0 followers. Although, this is understandable since I have only shared two blog posts and one profile picture. I have a lot of work to do on this one... I will focus on the other two and chuck this one in the if I have spare time basket! For now I have set Instagram to auto post all posts to the Facebook page so that it starts receiving regular content. But I guess the least I could do is post up the new blog posts when they go live.

The Interaction Plan

To keep things simple and hopefully achievable, I will check my Spoonflower dashboard every day. Looking through the new designers and recently released sections. I will actually read the daily email and make sure to check who followed and liked designs, then return the favour.

On Instagram, I will reply to comments, upload an image and spend a few minutes liking and commenting on other designers posts. Making sure to keep an eye out for new followers and following back if I like their work. I do not follow private accounts. Do you?

Right, that sounds achievable..ish. Wish me luck, strength and patience! Who knows maybe I will even enjoy it!
